Donald G. Combs

Donald G. Combs, age 68, was born on February 2nd, 1943 and departed this life on February 15th 2011 at his home in Oneida, Kentucky.  He was a member of the Rockhouse Valley Church, where he dedicated his life to the Lord.  He was the son of Clarence Combs and Callie Anderson Combs.  Don was the husband of Joyce Ann Davidson Combs and is survived by his wife, Joyce, and his three children; son, Scott Combs & wife Laura of Oneida, Paul Keith Combs and wife Angie of Oneida, and daughter, Mary Beth Gay and husband Russell of Oneida.  He is also survived by seven grandchildren: Chelsea, Haley, Casey, Sydney, Jayden, Callie, and Jacob.  Two sisters, Georgia Sharp of Oneida and Evelyn Jackson of Frankfort, also survive him.  He also leaves surviving a host of family and friends.  He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Harold and Walt, and one sister, Marj.

Funeral services for Donald G. Combs were held Friday at 11:00 AM at the Britton Funeral Home Chapel with Wade England Officiating.  Burial followed at the Sharp Cemetery at Wildcat.

Barbara Jean Thompson

Barbara Jean Thompson, age 53 of Manchester, passed away Saturday, February 26th, 2011 at the University Of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky.  She was born February 24th 1985 in Clay County, Kentucky to the union of Otto and Georgia Payne Thompson.  She was a member of the Martin’s Creek Baptist Church and Lab Tech at The Manchester Memorial Hospital.  She is also survived by her brothers:  Clifford Thompson of Manchester, Bob Thompson of London, and Rick Thompson of Manchester, her sister:  Jewell Dean Holland of Manchester, and these nieces and nephews:  Melinda Mitchell, Phillip Mitchell, Sherrie Smallwood, Wayne Thompson, Lisa Hooker, Megan Thompson, and Rylery Thompson.  Also surviving in her “Babies” which are her great nieces and great nephews.  She is preceded in death by her parents:  Otto Georgia Thompson, and her brothers:  Ronnie Thompson, Billy Thompson and Ray Thompson.  Funeral Services for Barbara Jean Thompson will be Tuesday March 1st, 2011 at 1PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel.  Rev. Billy Shaun Thompson.  Rev. Morris Thompson and Rev. Shirley Joe Smith will be officiating.  Burial will follow in the Thompson Family Cemetery in the Botto Community.  Visitation will be Monday, February 28th, after 6PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel.

Arie Reid Puckett

Arie Reid Puckett born October 26th, 1926, age 84.  Formerly of Manchester, KY passed away in Hamilton, Ohio on February 22nd.  She is preceded in death by her 2 daughters, her son, husband, and parents.  Survived by a grandchild, 13 great grandchildren, her sister Betty Reid Brown of Hamilton, Ohio and brother, Zenith Reid of Tennessee.  She will be laid to rest in Hamilton, Ohio at the Millville Cemetery.  Arie was loved by many and will be missed early.

Alice Webb Hays

Alice Webb Hays, age 69 of Hima, passed away Saturday, February 26th, 2011 at Manchester Memorial Hospital.  She was born May 7th, 1941 in Clay County, Kentucky to the union of William “Bill” and Sara Botkins Webb.  She is survived by her children:  Donald Hays of California, Veronica Smith of Horse Creek, Carmaleta Smith of Horse Creek and Shannah Smith of Horse Creek.  Also surviving are 9 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 2 sisters:  Mary Smith of Horse Creek and Clara Trosper of Oklahoma.  She is preceded in death by her parents:  William and Sara Webb, and her daughter:  Debra Sizemore.  Funeral Services for Alice Webb hays will be Wednesday, March 2nd, 2011 at 2PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel.  Rev. Roscoe Roark and Rev. Youel Napier will be officiating.  Burial will be in the Downey Cemetery in Gregory Branch Community.  Visitation will be Tuesday, March 1st, after 6PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel.

Vickie Lynn Stewart

Vickie Lynn Stewart, 48, of Oneida, passed away Friday at the Laurel Creek Nursing home. She was a member of the Antepast Baptist Church. She is survived by her mother, Zelda Stewart, Oneida, & the following brothers & sisters:  Eugene Stewart, Hyden, Audrey Wilson, Manchester, Mary Byrd & husband Wayne, Laurel Creek, Josephine Bowling & husband Coy, Oneida, Pauline Davidson & husband Charles, Hamilton, Ohio, & Brenda Runion & husband Tim, Laurel Creek.  She also leaves 16 nieces & nephews, 20 great nieces & nephews & a special uncle, Eiljah Stewart.  Funeral services for Vickie Lynn Stewart will be held 1PM Monday at the Antepast Baptist Church with Robert Hacker & Tip Smith officiating.  Burial will follow at the Johnny Martin Cemetery at Oneida.  Visitation will be after 6:00 PM Sunday at the Britton Funeral Home.
