Toleman Napier, 63, of Billys Branch, passed away Tuesday at the Manchester Memorial Hospital.
He was a retired coal miner.
He is survived by his wife Bernice Wagers Napier and these children: Jerry Napier and wife Vicki, Island Creek; and Tristan Cody Napier, Goose Rock, and these grandchildren: Alexis Napier, Tristan Cody Napier.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Penny Napier and his sister Maurice Gray.
He is also survived by his brother, Stanley Napier, London and his special brother in law, Dewey Wagers.
Funeral services for Toleman Napier will be held Saturday at 2:00 pm at the Britton Funeral Home Chapel with Ronnie Brown and Tess Lipps officiating. Burial will follow at the Brush Harbor Cemetery at Billy’s Branch.
Visitation will be Friday at 6:00 pm at the Britton Funeral Home.
Myrtle Baker Burns born February 9, 1929, and passed away December 24, 2012 at the Saint Joseph London Hospital; at the age of 83.
She was a retired homemaker and a merchant along with her husband.
She leaves surviving three sons; Freddie Wayne Burns; Larry Burns; and Darrell and Debra Burns all of Oneida, Kentucky.
She also leaves surviving 7 grandchildren: Randall; Wendell; Freddie Joe; Teri; Destiny; Tammy and Terry. She also leaves surviving 10 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Reuben Baker and Mary Jane Baker Bowling, her loving husband Fred Burns. One daughter Joan Gay. Two grandsons Timmy Burns and Tony Burns, also one granddaughter Madison Elizabeth Burns, one brother Elder Baker and two sisters Martha Baker and Gracie Roberts.
Funeral services for Myrtle Baker Burns were held Friday at 2:00 pm at the Panco Community Church with Jerry Rice officiating. Burial followed at the Fred Burns Cemetery at Panco.
Hester Smallwood, 62, of Horse Creek, passed away Monday at the Hospice Care Center at Hazard.
She is survived by 2 children: Terry France, Horse Creek; and Tammy France, Richmond, Kentucky.
She is also survived by 2 grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters: Marshall France; Franklin D. France; Earnest France and Alphia Henson, all of Horse Creek; Vernon France and Stella Ross Hacker, both of Manchester
Funeral services for Hester Smallwood will be held Saturday at 11:00 am at the Britton Funeral Home Chapel with Carl Henson officiating. Burial will follow at the France Cemetery at Horse Creek.
Visitation will be after 6:00 pm Friday at the Britton Funeral Home.
Curtis Barger, 84, of London, the husband of Mildred Barger, passed away Tuesday at the St. Joseph-London Hospital at London.
Funeral services for Curtis Barger will be held Thursday at 1:00 pm at the East Bernstadt Church of God with Eric Richardson and Eddie Hall officiating.
Visitation will be 6:00 pm Wednesday at the Britton Funeral Home.
Mr. Steven Bruce Howard, age 22 of Manchester, passed away Sunday, December 16, 2012 in Clay County, Kentucky. He was born March 1, 1990 in Manchester, Kentucky to Bruce David Howard and Nellie Sue Adams.
He is survived by his father: Bruce David Howard, his mother: Nellie Sue Adams, his girlfriend: Bridgette Diane Sizemore, his daughter: Allison Leanna Howard, his grandmother: Barbara Adams, and these brothers and sisters: Makisha Howard, David Russell Howard, Brittany Cleo Goins, Brittany Sproles, and Bridgette Sproles.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents: Bruce and Cleo Howard and his grandfather: Johnny Adams.
Funeral Services will be on Tuesday, December 18, at 1 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Joey Burns and Rev. Brad Stevens will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Manchester Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be Tuesday, December 18, after 12 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel.
