Flora “Bootsie” Pennington, age 75 of Manchester, passed away Thursday, March 31st, 2011 at the Baptist Regional Medical Center in Corbin, Kentucky. She was born September 18th, 1935 in Clay County, Kentucky to the union of James Amos and Elennor Word Pennington. She was a homemaker and a member of the St. Paul AME Church.
She is survived by her children: Darrell Pennington of Manchester, Paula Pennington of Manchester, Pamela Pennington Boston of Manchester, Jeff Pennington of Manchester, and LEsa Pennington walker of Manchester, and several other children that she raised. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren: James Tee Pennington, Richard Walker and Jessica, Chris Walker and Cam, Jasmine Pennington, and Jeffery Pennington, Jr., 2 great grandchildren: Jecee Madison and Maylen Mya. Also surviving are these brothers and sisters: John Ed Pennington and his wife loraine of Manchester, Ron Pennington and his wife Char of Lexington, Kentucky, Jerry Pennington of Cincinnati, Ohio, Bobbie Buttram and her husband Rev. Sherman of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Sharon Runyon and her husband Phillip of Richmond, Kentucky, her siter-in-law Jackie Pennington, and numerous nieces, nephews, other friends and relatives.
She is preceded in death by her fater: Jim “Bug Eye” Pennington, her mother: Eleanor Word Pennington, her brothers. Pearl Pennington, David Pennington and Gill Pennington, her sister: Virginia Williams her sons: Gary “Bubs” Pennington and Michael hacker, and her special sister friends: Laura Stinson. Flora Hyde, Betty White, Edith Jones and Flora Mae Dockery.
Funeral Services for Flora “Bootsie” Pennington will be held on Sunday, April 3rd, 2011 at 1 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Avis Thompson and Bro. Ken Bolin will be officiating.
Visitation will be Sunday, April 3rd after 11 AM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel.
Rominger Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Cecil Henson,, 54, of Goose Rock. The husband of Karen Henson, Passed away Friday at the Memorial Hospital.
Funeral Services for Cecil Henson were held Monday at 12:00 Noon at the Britton Funeral Home Chapel with Johnny Hyde officiating. Burial followed at the Marcum and Henson Cemetery at Goose Rock.

Ray Hicks, age 73, of Abington, died Saturday, March 26, 2011, at Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis. He was born February 10, 1938, in Pigeon Roost, Kentucky, to Eli and Laura Jones Hicks and had lived in this community most of his life. Ray attended Clay County, Kentucky Schools and was a retired press operator after 24 years from Wallace metal Products. He was a member of Gospel Baptist Church and enjoyed playing cards, hunting and fishing, NASCAR, professional wrestling, and spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Joan Hicks to whom he married October 12, 1957; three daughters, Deborah D. (Dale) Matheny of Centerville, Brenda (Jim) Huddleston of Richmond, and Mary A. (Denver Peters) Baldwin of Manchester, Kentucky; four sons, James L. (Amy) Hicks of Centerville, Robert E. (Tammy) hicks of Bradenton, Florida, Lester A. (Leslie) Hicks of Liberty, and Perry G. (Jennifer) Hicks of Shelbyville; twenty grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; one brother, Willie Hicks of Tennessee; four sisters, Edith Cheek of Kentucky, Norma Liebschtz of Abington, Halia Pate of Centerville, and Bessie Scott of South Carolina; aunts, cousins, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eli and Laura hicks; one son, Billy Ray Hicks; and three sisters. Visitation for Ray Hicks will be 4:00 – 8:00 PM Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at the Doan and Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond, Indiana. Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Wednesday, March 30, 2011, at the Doan and Mills Funeral home with Rev. Gilmer Smith officiating. Burial will be in Abington Cemetery. She is survived by these children: Virgil Hoskins and wife Ruby of Elk Creek, Janice Gray and husband Arkus of Elk Creek and Billie Jean Sizemore and husband Elmer of Big Creek. Lucy is survived by these grand children: Veda Riley, Jeffrey Ghent, Timothy Hoskins, Kevin Gray, Jennifer Grubb, Jonathan Gray, Eric and Cameron Sizemore and several great grandchildren. Lucy is survived by these brothers and sisters: John L. Bowling Jr, Waxford Bowling, Flossie Lipps, Mossie Thompson and Mary Alice Napier, The sister-in-laws: Sudie Bowling, Billie Jean Bowling, and Magaline Bowling and a special Cousin and 4 wheeler buddy – Mona Lipps and husband R.D.
Funeral services for Lucy Hoskins will be held Wednesday at 11:00 AM at the Britton Funeral Home Chapel with Tess Lipps and Billy Shaun Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at the Hoskins Cemetery at Peabody.

Lola Lee Bush born September 10, 1948 passed away March 21st, 2011. She leaves behind her husband Donnie, one son Donnie Michael & wife Rachel of London KY. & one grand daughter Kendall. She also leaves behind two brothers A.C. Henson of Billy’s Branch & A.T. Henson of London. She was preceded in death by her father and mother Hugh and Lillie Henson. Funeral services for Lola Lee Bush will be held Friday at 1:00 PM at the Britton Funeral Home Chapel with Jerry Holland & Jerry McKinley Holland officiating. Burial will follow at the McKinley Bush Cemetery at Elk Creek. Visitation was after 6:00 PM Thursday at the Britton Funeral Home.
