Andrew Hacker

Andrew Hacker, age 78 of Burning Springs, departed this earthly home and went to his heavenly home on January,15, 2011 after a long illness.
He was born June 15, 1932 to the union of William Hacker and Mary Ellen Childs Hacker. By occupation, he was a worker in the under ground coal mining industry and a farmer by trade.
Andrew was an avid outdoors-man, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and he collected knives and guns. He loved bluegrass and country music. But most especially, he enjoyed spending time with his family.
Andrew was united in marriage to Minnie Blanton, on November 2nd, 1963. Andrew is survived by his wife of 47 years, Minnie Blanton Hacker, and the following children, Rhonda Jean Buttery (James) of London, Margie Faye Smith (Rufus) of Burning Springs, Phillip Andrew Hacker of Burning Springs, Harold Hacker of Burning Springs and Delbert Lee Hacker (Kim) of London. He is alos survived by five grandchildren, Harold Hacker of Burning Springs, Jennifer Hacker of Sexton s Creek, Travis Hacker of Burning Springs, Brenda Lee Buttrey of Massachusetts and James Edward Buttrey of London. One great-grandson, Gabriel Alexander Hacker of Sextons Creek.
He is also survived by the following brothers, Bradley Hacker of Hamilton, Ohio, Wilburn Hacker (Betty Ann) of Shepherdtown, Ky, Tinsley Hacker of Laurel Creek, Wylie Boone Hacker (Wanda Faye) of London, and Archie Hacker of London.
Andrew was preceded in death by his son Robert Wayne Hacker and the following brothers and sisters. McKinnley Hacker, Birchel Hacker, Delila Hacker, Dovie Hacker Bowling and Lillian Hacker Blanton. He also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews to mourn his passing.
Funeral services for Andrew Hacker were held Wednesday, January 19th, 2011 at 2 PM at the Britton Funeral Home Chapel with his life long family friend, Rev. Frank Peters, officiating.
Burial followed in the Lewis Cemetery located at the Terrell’s Creek Community in Jackson County.
Visitation was held Wednesday, January 19th, 2011 after 12 PM, at the Britton Funeral Home.

Ancil Dees

Ancil Dees, age 85, of Centerville, Indiana formerly of Clay County passed away Saturday in Indiana.

He leaves surviving the following brothers and sisters: Ruby Dees Black; Raleigh Dees; Midred Davis; Shirley York; Brilla Rawlings; Casper Dees; Dennie Brown; and Arlie Dees.

Funeral servies will be held Monday at 1:00 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jeremy Bowling officiating.  Burial will follow in the Cress cemetery on Robinson Creek.  Visitation will begin at 11:30 AM Monday at the Funeral Home until funeral time at 1 PM.

Funeral services for Andrew hacker will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday at the Britton Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow at the Lewis Cemetery at Robinson Creek

Carl "Buddy" Bundy

When Words Aren’t Enough

To say thank you seems insignificant at times to express what we feel in our heart.

During the time of my brother, Carl “Buddy” Bundy, born 1-13-50, illness, and even after his death there are to many people to say thank you to.  I don’t want to leave anyone out.  I’m speaking of our pastor, Anthony Lovett and Roy Jarvis, Horse Creek Baptist, The people who brought food and flowers and right down to the people who picked up our garbage.

I can say a special thanks to the DAV for they’re beautiful performance and words that were spoken and the grave side, Manchester Memorial Home Health, Angie and Effie, St. Joes in London, VA Medical in Lexington, St. Joes Tri County Hospice, the ladies that sang their beautiful songs at his funeral, and Britton Funeral Home.

Just know that old saying holds true today: “A friend in need is a friend in deed”.  We love you all.
