Michael Thompson

Our beloved Michael Thompson departed this life January 28, 2013. He was born at the Becknell Clinic downtown Manchester on March 29, 1952 to the union of Oscar and Goldie Thompson. He married his best friend and soul mate on February 10, 1984, Mary Gail Woods Thompson.
He was very compassionate about his work as a TV repairman and spent 42 years of his life working in the TV field. He retired from House Enterprises and the Clay County Board of Education where he served as a bus driver 13 years. He was a very active member of the Mudlick Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years and love of his life Mary Gail Thompson, and his two precious sons Steven and wife Misty of Hazard, KY and his son Rodney Thompson and wife Jennifer of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. His grandchildren Conner and Payton Thompson.
He is also survived by his mother, Goldie Thompson. His brothers Morris Thompson and wife Esther and Melvin Thompson and one sister, Marsha Bruner. A very special great niece, Jessica Hibbard.
Surviving is also his great great niece and apple of his eye Mia Hibbard. His special friend and brother for life James Ed Garrison. He also leaves a host of precious nieces and nephews. Two special uncles JM and Cartis Carpenter survive him as well. He also leaves behind a wonderful bunch of sister and brother in laws and the most supportive and loving church family.
He is preceded in death by his father Oscar Thompson, brother Myron Thompson, nephews Myron Glenn Thompson and Trenton Glenn Thompson and a niece Tracy Bruner. His mother and father in law Ted (Bear) and Essie Woods.
Funeral service for Michael Thompson will be held Thursday, January 30 at 1 p.m. at the Britton Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Britton Funeral home.
Burial will follow in the Woods Cemetery at Goose Rock. Services will be officiated by Harold Jones and Morris Thompson. Honorary pallbearers JM and Cartis Carpenter pallbearers James Ed Garrison, Jerry Wyrick, Kevin Dale Bruner, Shane Thompson, Nick Bruner, Jason Hibbard and Nick Jones.

Rosaleta Mills

Rosaleta Mills, 66, of Pleasureville, KY, formerly of Clay County, was born April 20, 1946, passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2013, at the Norton Health Care Pavilion, in Louisville.
She is survived by her son, Jason Mills and wife, Joy, of Pleasureville, and two grandsons, Duncan Conner Mills and Logan Hunter Mills.
She is also survived by two brothers, Homer Mills, of Indianapolis, IN, and Clifford Mills, of Carbondale, IL, and two sisters, Imogene Clark, of Conyers, GA, and Josephine Jackson, of Oneida.
Funeral services for Rosaleta Mills will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Britton Funeral Home chapel with Cleve Bowling and Tim Monroe officiating.
Burial will follow in the Smith Cemetery at Asher’s Fork.
Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Friday at the Britton Funeral Home

Dewey Baker

Dewey Baker, 78, of Manchester, was born August, 1st, 1934, passed away Thursday, January 24th, 2013, at the St. Joseph-London hospital.
He is survived by his wife, Josephine Baker, and the following children: Ricky Baker, Ena Blair, and Marenia Hoskins, all of Manchester, and Les Baker and wife, Lola, of Gray Hawk.
He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, the following brother and sisters: Les Baker and Ester Baker, both of Manchester, and Connie Murray, of Fairfield, OH, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
Dewey is preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Sarah Baker, his brothers, Homer Baker and Eldrige Baker, his sisters, Bonnie Murphy and Lucy Thomas, and his granddaughter, Kaitline Brooke Baker.
Funeral services for Dewey Baker will be 1 p.m. Sunday at the Britton Funeral Home chapel with Ernie Murray and Jay Mathis officiating.
Burial will follow in the Byrd Cemetery at Cool Springs.
Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Saturday at the Britton Funeral Home.

Lisa Marie Davis

Lisa Marie Davis, 39, passed away Monday at the UK Medical Center in Lexington.
She is survived by her parents Kenny and Cookie Davis, Manchester, and her number one friend Todd.
She is also survived by the following brothers and sister: Ethan Davis, Kenneth Davis Jr., both of Manchester, and Renee Davis Caldwell, Leslie Co. Also surviving are two nieces, Destiny Caldwell and Kennedy Caldwell, and two nephews, Cody Davis and John Davis as well as a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her death.
Funeral services will be 2 PM Thursday at the Britton Funeral Home with Roscoe Asher officiating. Burial will follow at the Napier Davis Cemetery at Pennington Hill. Visitation will be 6 PM Wednesday at the Britton Funeral Home.
Britton Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Hazel Harris

Hazel Harris 82 of Morristown passed away at her home Monday, January 14, 2013.  She was born June 25, 1930 in McKee, KY to Alpha Jane Westerfield Baker and Morris Baker.  She was a member of Kidwell’s Ridge Baptist Church.
Preceded in death by her husband Daniel B. Harris, Sr.; parents, Morris Baker and Alpha Westerfield Baker and brother, Charlie Baker.
Survivors include children; Barbara (Jerry) Bush, Morris (Brenda) Harris, Judy (Ronnie) Cox, Daniel B. Harris, Jr (Pamela) all of Morristown, TN, Leon, Brenda Harris of Goose Creek, S.C. and Robert (Phyllis) Harris of Parrottsville, TN and Paul (Kelley) Harris of Mohawk, TN; grandchildren, Scottie (Cecelia) Bush of Corpus Christi, TX, Jeremy (Jacquelyn) Marousis Bush of Ashbury Park, NJ, Chris Harris and Rebecca (Ron) Crabtree of Goose Creek, SC, Brian (Penny) Harris of Grand Junction, CO, Melissa Harris, Michael Harris and Joseph Harris all of Parrottsville, TN, Bradley Harris, Hannah Harris and Nikki Cox all of Morristown, TN; 11 great grandchildren; brothers, Melvin Baker, Morris Baker, Jr. of KY; sisters, Evelyn Whitaker and Maggie Bess of KY and Janet Driver of NC.
The family will receive friends, 6-8 PM, Tuesday, January 15, 2013 in Mayes Family Services, West Chapel.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Fogertown, KY.  The body will lie in state 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM prior to the services.  Interment will follow in the Harris Family Cemetery in Fogertown, KY.
