Gladys Smallwood, age 76, of Barbourville, formerly of Clay County, passed away Saturday at her home.
Funeral services for Gladys Smallwood were held Tuesday at 2:00 PM at the Britton Funeral Home Chapel with Charles Eversole officiating.
Burial followed at the Walker Cemetery at Plank.

Virginia Dare Maggard Lewis, (Better known as Granny Virgie) age 94 departed this earthly home and went to her heavenly home on January 11, 2011. She was born July 22, 1916 in Clay County, KY.
She is survived by two daughters: Jewell Webb (Albert) and Janet Elliott of Manchester, KY. Also three granddaughters: Linda Westerfield (Robbie) of Manchester; Patricia Crawford (James) of Nicholasville, KY. and Julie May (Larry) of Corbin, KY., six great grandchildren: Landon and Logan Westerfield, Deanna and Nykolas Crawford and Michael and John David May, one sister: Jane Moberly of Fogertown, KY.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Dave Lewis, her parents: Jessie and Martha Maggard, three sisters: Ella Johnson, Berneice Hacker, Mabel Hobbs, and son-in-law: Carl Elliott.
She was a retired school teacher and a member of the Island Creek Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was a great Christian role model for her family, friends and students. She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.
Funeral services for Virginia Lewis were held Thursday at 7:30 at the Island Creek Baptist Church with Wendell Carmack and George Grigsby officiating.
Graveside services were held Friday at 10:00 AM at the Manchester Memorial Gardens. The Britton Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Toni Rose Bowling, 56, of Muddy Gap, passed away Tuesday at the Manchester Memorial Hospital.
She was a member of the Muddy Gap Baptist Church and a retired school teacher.
She is survived by her husband, Darrell Bowling and 2 children: Russell Bowling and Lynsey Bowling, both of Manchester.
She also leaves 2 grandchildren, Amber and Paige Bowling. She is preceded in death by sister, Joan Lee Byrd.
Funeral services for Toni Rose Bowling will be held Friday at 2:00 PM at the Britton Funeral Home Chapel with Terry Roberts and Carl Allen officiating. Burial will follow at the Carnahan Cemetery at Greenbriar.
Visitation will be after 6:00 PM Thursday at the Britton Funeral Home.

Nannie Crawford, 81, of Horse Creek, passed away Tuesday at her home.
She was a member of the Horse Creek Holiness Church and a retired employee of the Clay County School Board and the daughter of the late Matt Dezarn and Martha Dezarn.
She was preceded in death by her husband Frank Crawford.
She is survived by the following children: Ray Crawford of London, Teresa Campbell of Horse Creek and Brenda Stewart of London.
She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and the following brothers and sisters: Dan “Blue” Dezarn, Esther Roberts, and Charlotte Stewart, all of Horse Creek, Charles “Babe” Dezarn, London, Paul Dezarn, Manchester, Doris Gross, Manchester, Clarence Dezarn, Goose Rock.
Funeral services for Nannie Crawford were held Friday, January 7th at 1:00 PM at the Britton Funeral Home Chapel with Eric Richardson, Terry Reed, George Roberts, and Lyle Sizemore officiating. Burial followed at the Enjine Cemetery.
Visitation was after 5:00 PM Thursday, January 6th at the Britton Funeral Home.
