Troy Douglas Martin

Troy Douglas Martin, 75, of Oneida, passed away Saturday at the V.A. Hospital in Lexington. He was a retired salesman & a US Army Veteran. He is survived by 3 sons, Kevin Martin, Batavia, Ohio, Quenton Martin, Brunswick, Georga & Todd Martin, Tampa, Florida. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 2 brothers, Elmo Martin, Louisville, KY and DeAlvin Martin, Brunswick, Georgia. Funeral services for Troy Douglas Martin will be held Tuesday at 11:00 AM at the Britton Funeral Home Chapel with Jerry Rice officiating. Burial will follow at the Fairview Cemetery at Brutus. Visitation will be after 9:00 AM Tuesday at the Britton Funeral Home.

Stephen Langdon

Stephen Langdon, 82, of London, formerly of Clay County, lost his battle with cancer Monday, June 27, at the Eastern Kentucky Veterans Center in Hazard, surrounded by his loving family. He was born to the union of Hamp and Pearl Haskins Langdon on September 5, 1928. He was member of the Flat Creek Church of the Brethren. He retired from the U.S. Army after 20 years of service, which included two tours in Vietnam. He also belonged to the Masonic Lodge Clay 798. Stephen was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Lester and Hamp Jr. He is survived by two sons, Tom (Ju Song Lee) Langdon of Manchester, KY, one daughter Teresa (Patrick) Smith, Manchester, five grandsons, Anthony Langdon of O’Fallon, IL, Matt Langdon, Zach Langdon, Gage Couch and Dalen Couch all of Manchester, three step-granddaughters, Trish Smith of Louisville, Kayla Smith and Gwenyth Smith both of Manchester, one sister, Edith Baker of Marcum. He is also survived a most of extended relatives and friends. Visitation will be Thursday, June 30, 6 PM - 9 PM at the Britton Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral will be Friday, July 1 at 11 AM at the Britton Funeral Home Chapel with Dwayne Yost officiating. Stephen will be laid to rest at the Langdon Cemetery on Sugar Creek in the Marcum Community.

Oscar Byrd

Oscar Byrd, 89, or Teges, the husband of Hazel Byrd, passed away Monday at his home. Funeral services for Oscar Byrd will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM at the Britton Funeral Home Chapel with Herman Byrd, Coy Lee Grubb, Henry Lloyd Deaton & William Ball officiating. Burial will follow at the Lower Saddler Cemetery at Teges. Visitation will be after 6:00 PM Wednesday at the Britton Funeral Home.

Mrs. Tina Ruth

Mrs. Tina Renee Ruth, age 33 of Manchester, passed away Monday, June 27th, 2011 at her home.  She was born February 22nd, 1978 in Clay County, Kentucky to Billy Thompson and Billie Sue Roberts Thompson.

She is survived by her husband: Barry Ruth of Manchester, her daughter: Kristen Ruth of Manchester, her son: Brysten Ruth of Manchester, her mother: Billie Sue Thompson, her granny: Nora Roberts, and her sister: Angie Roberts of South Carolina.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Tina Renee Ruth will be held on Friday, July 1st, 2011 at 1 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel.  Rev. George Roberts will be officiating.  Burial will follow in the Roberts Cemetery in the Curry Branch Community.

Visitation will be Thursday, June 30th, after 6 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel.

Rominger Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs, Bonny Maxie

Mrs. Bonnie Sue Maxie, age 64 of Manchester, passed away Friday, June 30th, 2011 at her home.  She was born November 29th, 1946 in Clay County, Kentucky.  She was a nurse’s aid at the Laurel Creek Health Care Center and a member of the Church of God Worship Center.

She is survived by her children: Betty Ann Reid of Beech Creek, Jerry Maxie of Owsley County, and Jimmy Maxie of Beech Creek.  Also surviving are these grandchildren: Darrell Maxie, JoAnne Reid, Joshua Jarvis and Aleshia Jarvis, Kenton Maxie and A. J. Maxie, these great grandchildren: Cody Maxie and Serenitee Hibbits and Riley Jarvis, and one sister: Vernie Duff of Laurel Creek, and a host of relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her son: Kennneth Wayne Maxie and her husband: Arthur “Shug” Maxie.

The family wishes to give special thanks to Roscoe Napier and family and Shirley Marlow.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Bonnie Sue Maxie will be held on Saturday, July 2nd, at 3 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel.  Rev. Joey Burns and Rev. Brad Stevens will be officiating.  Burial will follow in the Adams Cemetery in the Charlie Sizemore Road Community.

Visitation will be Friday, July 1st, after 6 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel.

Rominger Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
