Eleanor "Ellie" Galvin

Eleanor “Ellie” Galvin, the only child of William E. and Ella Galvin, died on Friday, April 29, 2011 at the age of 93.  She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on July 11, 1917.  Ellie, an amazing lady, touched many people throughout her long and productive life.

Ellie earned many degrees and worked in various positions.  She graduated from Regina High School, Villa Madonna College, St. Elizabeth Hospital School of Nursing, and Xavier University.  She worked as a nurse, teacher, hospital administrator, principal, and counselor.

Ellie leaves behind a long legacy of caring and helping other through church activities, healthcare, and education.  Places which held an important place in Ellies’s heart include:  the Dioces of Covington, Bishop Brossart high School, St. Augustine Parish and School, Sisters of Notre Dame, St. Charles Care Center, To Be Concerned Inc., St. Vincent DePaul Society, Clay County High School, and St. Ann Parish in Manchester, KY.

Ellie is survived by many special friends including: Sister Mary Evangelita (her life-long friend with whom she entered the Sisters of Notre Dames), Margaret Schack (former student and devoted friend), and the John and Cathy Kennedy Family (her adopted family).

A Funeral Mass with a reception following begins at 6 pm on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at St. Joseph heights in Park Hills, KY.

Delores G. Frazier

Delores G. Frazier, 84, of Whitesburg passed Saturday, April 30, 2011 at her residence. Delores was preceded in death by Willie and Lola Collins Gibson. Delores was the widow of Ira Lee Frazier. Surviving are 2 daughters: Bernadine Frazier (Mark) Miracle of Whitesburg and Lora Lee Frazier (Marshall) Howard of Manchester; 1 brother: Hubert Gibson of Blackwood, Virginia; 2 sisters: Crystal Lewis of Hazel Green and Anette Wilson of Cold Springs; 2 grandchildren: Megan Danae Howard and Kelsey Lee Howard, special caregivers: Deborah Caudill, Denise Combs, Sonja Honeycutt, Vicki McGinnis, and Darlene Asher.

Funeral: 2:30 O'clock P.M. Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesburg with Elwood Cornett and Bill Craft officiating. Visitation: 6:00 P.M. Monday at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Frazier Family Cemetery at Roxanna, Kentucky.  This obituary is courtesy of the Rominger Funeral Home of Manchester.

Asher Family Expresses Thanks


We want to thank everyone that helped us in any way during our loss.  The ones that brought food, donated money, and for all the flowers and gifts that were sent.  A special thank you to the ones that said a prayer or who came to sit with us to give us comfort.  We want to thank all the neighbors for coming to help us when we needed it most.  A very special thank you to Brittons Funeral Home for a wonderful job that they done.  Thank you to Linda Smallwood and her family for the beautiful songs they sung.  A very very special thank you to the pastors Phillip Proffit, James Wagers, and George Roberts and also to the Pal Bears.  Again, thank you to everyone.

Stella Hubbard

Stella Hubbard, 65, of Lockards Creeks, passed away Wednesday at her home.  She is survived by 1 sister, Anna Hubard, Lockards Creeks, & several nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews & great great nieces & nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Brice & Lettie Hubbard, & these brothers, Ray Hubbard, Earl Hubbard & Clarence Hubbard.  Funeral services for Stella Hubbard will be held Sunday at 2:00 PM at the Britton Funeral Home Chapel with Baxter Corum & Bobby Smith officiating.  Burial will follow at the Jackson Cemetery at Lockards Creek.  Visitation will be after 6:00 OM Saturday at the Britton Funeral Home.

Micael Dale Hensley

Michael Dale Hensley, 41, of Oneida, passed away Tuesday as a result of an auto accident.

Funeral services for Michael Dale Hensley were held Saturday at 2:00 PM at the Oneida Baptist Church with John Routh and Joey burns officiating.  Burial followed at the Johnny Martin Cemetery at Oneida
