Manchester Memorial Hospital Employee Honored with Patriot Award

April Turner, an employee of the Manchester Memorial Hospital, was honored with a Patriot Award. The award recognizes employers for employment policies and practices that are supportive of employee participation in the National Guard and Reserve. April was nominated for this award by SPC Steven Lorg of Manchester, KY. A member of the ARNG, 199 Co D. Ralph Brown, Area chairman for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), an agency of the Department of Defense, presented the award.

Jenna Michon Corum Jackson & Eric Robert Jackson

Sherry Crockett and Urshell Smith, of Manchester, would like to announce the marriage of their daughter Jenna Michon Corum Jackson to Eric Robert Jackson, son of Dale and Vickie Jackson, of London. The bride graduated from the University of Dayton School of Law. The groom is currently employed by the Laurel County Board of Education. The ceremony was held at the Henderson Park Inn, in Destin, Florida. A reception followed at the Inn's north lawn. The couple is celebrating their honeymoon at a resort in The Dominican Republic. Jenna and Eric plan to reside in Kentucky.

Dr. Deborah Colllier

  Dr. Deborah Collier recently awarded Barbara Ratliff a $500.00   scholarship. Each year Dr. Collier awards a scholarship to a graduating Clay County student who plans on entering a health care profession. The contestant has to submit an essay explaining their decision to enter the health care industry along with transcript, test scores, and letters of recommendation. The 2011 scholarship recipient has graduated from Clay County High School. Her plans include attending Somerset Community College this spring and eventually a career as a Registered Nurse. Dr. Collier and her entire staff wish Barbara the very best.
