Clay County Holds off Male in Preseason Scrimmage

Clay County's Zach McGeorge prepares to drive past a Louisville Male defender during Saturday's scrimmage game.
Coach Robert Marcum’s Clay County Tigers bounced back from a 23-9 first quarter deficit, winning the next three quarters to defeat visiting Louisville Male Saturday night 76-72.
The Tigers had a hard time adjusting to the quickness of Male in the first quarter, leading to a 23-9 deficit for the Tigers.
“You can’t simulate that type of quickness in our practices, and it took us the entire first quarter to adjust,” said Coach Marcum, “We didn’t do hardly anything right in the first quarter.”
