KU to seek 6.5% rate increase for residential customers
Later this month, Kentucky Utilities will ask the state Public Service Commission for permission to raise rates to pay for a series of generation and transmission upgrades made in recent years.
Dr. Grentz sentenced to 18 months in prison
A former Manchester doctor who admitted to failing to pay more than $900,000 in federal income taxes over more than decade was sentenced to 18 months in prison and must repay the taxes along with interest and penalties.

The Healthy Clay Coalition has just finished their first phase of improving the River Walk Trail leading from Rawlings and Stinson Park to the Swinging Bridge in East Manchester.
Board members say hold councils accountable for hires
“We as a board listen to what people have to say,” Roy Allen said. “The site based councils are no different. Hold them responsible for their decisions.”
Members of the board of education say they are coming under fire over some recent school system hiring’s they were not responsible for and want to clear the air on where the responsibility lies.
