The man accused of killing a Red Bird family will be back in court soon.
Clayton Dewayne Jackson is scheduled for a motion hearing before Circuit Judge Oscar Gayle House in Clay County Circuit Court Monday January 4.

Not many get to actually live their life, most just go through the motions.
T.C. Sizemore really lived and his life was an inspiration to many over the years. He passed away Saturday at the age of 94.
“Boots will surely be missed here in our county.” says Clay Lawson, talking about his good friend and fellow Sunday School teacher Geraldine “Boots” Smith who passed away Saturday. Most people who knew “Boots” share that same sentiment. That is especially true of her New Home Baptist Church family.

Clay County will be seeking their 10th WYMT Mountain Classic title as they open tournament play with the homestanding Knott County Central Patriots, Wednesday, January 6th at 8:30 p.m. at Knott County High School.
Wolfe, Sexton lead Clay to 53-41 win
Whitley County had the size advantage, but the talent of Clay County was just too much for the Colonels as the Tigers won their semi-final matchup, 53-41 Monday night in the Cumberland Falls Invitational.
The Lady Tigers are in Clinton County this week participating in the Best of the Lakes Holiday Classic.

Several Tiger football players received SEKC honors recently.

Update: The driver of the truck that caused the accident that killed five people on the Hal Rogers Parkway has be charged with four counts of Murder and DUI by the Kentucky State Police.
Jason Gibson age 40 of Big Creek was charged with: murder (four counts); wanton endangerment (first degree); fetal homicide (first degree) and operating motor vehicle under influence (alcohol/drugs/etc.) (first offense).

Funeral services were held Wednesday for five victims of a terrible accident that shut down the Hal Rogers Parkway Friday.
Joe B. Collins released in shooting of his niece
Joe B. Collins was released from the Clay County Detention Center Thursday after a Clay County Grand Jury failed to return a True Bill against him, according to the Commonwealth Attorney’s office. He had been charged in the shooting death of his niece.
