North Laurel sweeps awards in both boy’s, girl’s 49th district media voting

Post season honors are now being awarded to players and coaches throughout the 13th region.

This week, the 13th region Media announced their awards per district for both boy’s and girl’s.

Garner, Shriver forced to cancel local visit

Garner, Shriver forced to cancel local visit

Actress Jennifer Garner and Mark K. Shriver, the president of the Save the Children Action Network spoke to the state Senate and House committees last Tuesday on the success of early childhood education programs ran by Save the Children, a nonprofit that first began working with the state’s youth during the Great Depression in Harlan County.

Right when it looked like the Lady Tigers may have hit their peak, they stumbled Monday night in a home loss to South Laurel, 50-47, to close out the regular season.
