Terry R. Smith has mailed documents seeking a new trial in federal court after he and his wife Gerry were found guilty by a jury on drug related charges. Terry was also found guilty in the death of Patty “Big Pat” Smallwood and on a gun charge.
On Monday December 8 Richard Lawson was getting ready to go to work as a long distance truck driver. His truck has yet to be back on the road after he was flown to UK for treatment and surgery following an assault and shooting in the Manchester Walmart parking lot about an hour later. Michael Edwards has been charged in the shooting.
Kenneth Ray Childers has been sentenced to 60 months imprisonment and four years of supervised release in a case concerning one of the largest pot raids in Clay County history. Co-defendant Lisa Ann Mosley was sentenced to 13 months imprisonment and three years of supervised release.
Clarence Hollen age 71 of Manchester was arrested for trafficking in a controlled substance and placed under arrest following a three-month investigation by Chief Deputy Chris Curry according to a press release from Clay County Sheriff Office.

Bobby Joe Grubb, age 42 of Manchester, was arrested by Manchester Police Officer Brandon Feltner and charged with theft by unlawful taking according to a press release from Manchester Police Department. The arrest stemmed from a MPD facebook post that received several comments, messages, and phone calls from the community.

Local Law Enforcement Agencies Arrest Nine on Outstanding Warrants
A joint effort between members of the Sheriff Offices in Clay and Laurel County led to the arrest of a Manchester man, Matthew Wolfe age 33 of Beech Creek Road Saturday night. The arrest occurred on Couch Road at Wolfe’s mother’s residence following a burglary investigation headed by Laurel Deputy Kyle Gray according to a press release by Laurel County Sheriff John Root.
A Manchester man is scheduled to appear in Clay Circuit Court today (Thursday) for a pretrial conference on firearm and marijuana charges according to courts.ky.gov.
