Edwards arrested following shooting at Walmart

Michael Landon Edwards, age 32 of Manchester has been charged with assault (first degree) following an incident at Manchester Walmart Monday morning.

The arrest was made by Manchester Assistant Police Chief Patrick Robinson about a quarter-mile from the scene.

According to eyewitnesses at the scene shots were fired after an altercation in the parking lot. The victim was taken to Manchester Memorial Hospital and was flown out by helicopter.

 

Three charged with poaching deer

Three Clay County men have been charged by the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife with poaching according to officer Chris Meadows. Paul Hubbard and Shelby Sizemore were arrested for: illegal taking/pursue deer/wild turkey and spotlighting (use of artificial light).

School Board Rescinds “nickel” tax

Clay County School Board announced the “nickel” tax had been rescinded, KYA students were given special recognition, an annual audit was presented and Cookie Henson and Norman Cornett were presented awards for their service as board members during the December board meeting. Board members voted to name a proposed Technology Center after Cornett.
