A domestic violence incident at Burning Springs Elementary could lead up to five years in prison for a Clay County man.
Clay County Sheriff Kevin Johnson and his deputies were in the national spotlight this week after the airing of “Kentucky Wild” on the National Geographic channel program Southern Justice.
Following the premier showing the video of the program was posted on the Manchester Enterprise facebook page. In less than a week the post received over 14,000 hits, breaking the website’s record. Only two other posts have reached 10,000 hits.

Tony and Amanda Short will be sentenced for their part in the Eugene Slone murder case Wednesday (November 12). Tony and Amanda were two of eleven people included in the December 2012 indictment for “conspiring together and with others to knowingly and intentionally distributing a quantity of pills containing oxycodone, a Schedule II controlled substance between 2009 and 2012 in Clay, Knott, Letcher, Perry Counties and elsewhere.”
