Rice receives WKU award

Bowling Green, Kentucky – Western Kentucky University undergraduate students Meghan Rice, Amanda Poole, and Tradesha Chatman were honored in their University Experience classes for winning undergraduate research awards. Rice, a first-year student from Manchester, Kentucky, received the award for her annotated resource list based on the TED talk “How I learned to communicate my inner life with Asperger’s” by Alix Generous. Her instructor was Fallon Willoughby.

KYTC prepared for winter

Thoughts of snow and ice may be far from the minds of Kentuckians with warm temperatures hovering over the state, but the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) is sounding the battle cry “Winter is Coming” to alert motorists to prepare for the impending wintery conditions. The KYTC stands ready to tackle the elements with sharpened plow blades, stocked salt supplies and trained maintenance crews.

Edith Mae McIntosh Obit

Edith Mae McIntosh, 87, of rural Crothersville (IN) passed away November 23, 2017, at her home with her family at her side. Born March 22, 1930 in Manchester, KY, she was the daughter of Robert Hollin and Mary Mae (Maxie) Hollin. The family has entrusted Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory for cremation services.

Veteran Services

The Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) program which provides short-term assistance to Veterans that are either facing an eviction or are homeless to immediately alleviate their housing crisis through temporary financial assistance and case management. Veterans must have a discharge status other than “Dishonorable” and the military service have been “in addition to training.
