Cleo Grubb Finley Rice

Cleo Grubb Finley Rice, 85, of Manchester, KY, passed away Sunday, May 19th, at her home.

Cleo was born in Garrad, KY, on January 22nd, 1939, a daughter of the late Elbert and Rosa Stewart Grubb.

Cleo was a loving mother, grandmother, and wife. She was also a caretaker and homemaker. She enjoyed fishing, golfing, gardening, and lake trips with her best friend and cousin, Joyce Jones. She was a member of the Manchester Baptist Church.

Cleo is preceded in death by her first husband, James Ellis “Pooch” Finley.

Cleo is survived by her husband, John Russell Rice of Manchester, KY.

She is also survived by her children: Timothy Holt Finley and wife Leslie of Manchester, KY, and James Elbert Finley of London, KY; by her two grandchildren: Ellie Caroline Finley and Jack Holt Finley, all of Manchester, KY; by her siblings: Pearl Bill of London, KY, Ollie Owens of Millville, OH, and Bertha Parker of London, KY; as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Cleo is preceded in death by her sisters: Amy Patterson, Hester Beatty, and by her brother, Hascoe Ward.

Services for Cleo will be held at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, May 22nd, at the Manchester Baptist Church, with Ken Bolin officiating. Burial will follow in the Manchester Memorial Gardens.
