Fire remains under control

Statement from Clay Emergency Mgmt. 5/22/24 – 11:20 a.m. Update: Officials with the Clay Co. Emergency Management along with other emergency services on scene are still currently mitigating the incident on Gabbard’s Fk Rd.

Since our last update the decision was made as a precautionary measure to evacuate a 1 mile radius from the scene. This included an evacuation process of Landmark of Laurel Creek.

As for the scene of the incident, Clay Co. Emergency Management along with multiple emergency first responder agencies in Clay and surrounding counties have worked tirelessly to continue the evaluation and management of this incident along with Vinland Energy personnel.

At this time the fire remains under control. A continuing evaluation and management of the incident continues until our next scheduled update at 3:00 p.m.

Again, our current evacuation radius is 1 mile from the incident site on Gabbard’s Fork Rd.
