James Otis Harris

James Otis Harris was born December 30, 1930 in Clay County, Kentucky. He was the son of the late Patrick Harris and Zeylphia Dicy McWhorter Harris. He is survived by his four nieces and nephews, Bobby Harris, Robert Harris, Clarence Edward Harris, and Rosetta Collett all of East Bernstadt; one great-great nephew, Diesel Campbell; plus a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by his nine siblings, Johnny Harris, Patrick Harris, Clarence Gordon Harris, Samantha Collier, Polly Bennett, Ora Wilson Barlow, Beatrice Hacker, Rosie Barnett, and Talitah Harris.

He was a security guard and a member of Wayward Ministries.

James Otis Harris departed this life Tuesday, May 21, 2024 being 93 years, 4 months, and 22 days of age.

The funeral service for James Otis Harris will be conducted at 12 noon Thursday in the Bowling Funeral Home Chapel with Harold Harris, Jeremy Harris, and Josh Durham officiating. Burial will follow in the Harris Cemetery in Jackson County.

The family of James Otis Harris will receive friends beginning at 11:00 a.m. Thursday until the funeral hour of 12 noon at Bowling Funeral Home.
