Demolition underway at Bridge Street

The former home of Stephen Charles Law Office and the original site of the Clay Health Department is being demolished to make way for the renovation of what will be known as Jockey Street. The hand-cut stone from the building will be used on the new Manchester Distilling Company building to be constructed at the site of the old Manchester Dry Goods building.

The building was purchased by 1 Clay County. Officials wanted to utilize the building, but it was in such disrepair they were left with no choice but to demolish it.

A Farmer's Market will occupy the site where the Charles Law Office stands once a tile is placed and the land is filled in.
