Season opener canceled!
December 03, 2024
Update- Due to weather conditions, Pineville has canceled tonight’s season opening game. (MANCHESTER, Ky.) – Since 2021, Clay County has opened their season against the Pineville Mountain Lions. This year will be no different, as the Tigers are all set to open the 2024/25 season against Pineville, on December 3rd at Bobby Keith Gymnasium.
The Tigers were the last opponent Pineville saw in March of 2024, as Clay County defeated the Mountain Lions 80-50 in the opening round of the 13th region tournament.
The Tigers tall task will be slowing down the dynamic duo of Ashton Moser and Sawyer Thompson. Two seniors who can score in a hurry and knock down shots from anywhere on the court. Zander Garrison and Kaiden Robbins also can be expected to contribute, so the Tigers should have their hands full defensively.
With that said, the Mountain Lions could very well also have a tough time with these rowdy Tigers. Clay County played Ballard down to the final second in their exhibition game and seem poised for a big year. Built on toughness and playing with a fire, these Tigers are hungry after their postseason exit last year.
This game will likely be a total shootout, filled with exciting plays from start to finish. Tip is set for 6:00PM, Tuesday, December 3rd at Clay County High School.
A healthy Clay County requires great community news.
