Grand Jury Issues Multiple Indictments in Clay County, Including Deadly Burglary Case and Sexual Abuse Charges

MANCHESTER, Ky. — A Clay County grand jury has returned a series of indictments in connection with cases ranging from a fatal home invasion and sexual abuse to drug possession, theft, and assault. The indictments reflect ongoing efforts by local law enforcement and prosecutors to address a wide range of criminal activity in the area.
Fatal Burglary Leads to Indictment for Complicity
Clettie McKee Maidon, 41, of Curry Branch Road, was indicted for complicity to commit first-degree burglary. Authorities allege that Maidon conspired with Jeff Allen and Roger Smith to unlawfully enter the home of Gregory Smith with intent to commit a crime. During the February 15, 2025 break-in, a juvenile inside the residence fatally shot both Allen and Smith. The case drew local attention due to its deadly outcome.
Burglary, Theft, and Bail Jumping Charges Filed
Glenn Hoskins, 41, of Bridge Street, was indicted for second-degree burglary and theft by unlawful taking. He is accused of breaking into Douglas Frazier’s home on February 28, 2025, and stealing multiple items, including a TRX250 four-wheeler. Hoskins also faces two counts of bail jumping in connection with unrelated court matters.
Fraudulent Credit Card Use at Local Businesses
Prema Frost, 50, of Hwy. 1482 in Oneida, and Ashley Frost, 41, also of Oneida, were jointly indicted for fraudulent use of a credit card. The two are accused of unlawfully using a card belonging to Emily Hayre to make purchases totaling $1,111.48 at Walmart, Royal Tobacco & Food, and CMR Quick Stop.
High-Speed Chase Results in Drug and Fleeing Charges
Rafael Mondell Roark, 33, of London, was indicted for first-degree fleeing or evading police and possession of a controlled substance. The charges stem from a March 12, 2025, incident in which Roark allegedly led Deputy Wes Brumley on a high-speed chase.
Recycling Center Theft Leads to Charges
Randall S. Grubb, 53, of Manchester, faces two counts of theft by unlawful taking after allegedly stealing electric conveyor motors valued at $3,600 from the Horse Creek Recycling Center. He is also accused of stealing a cable belonging to Windstream.
Assault and Stolen Vehicle Case Involve Two Defendants
Skyler Hubbard, 21, of Coal Hollow Road, was indicted for second-degree assault after allegedly crashing during a police pursuit and injuring his passenger, Sally Jackson. He also faces charges of fleeing police, driving on a DUI-suspended license, and receiving stolen property valued over $10,000. Jackson, 26, of Chop Bottom, was also indicted for receiving stolen property, specifically a 2002 Suzuki XL7.
Additional Indictments Include Bail Jumping and Endangerment
Ryan Hurst, 25, of Keith Lane, and Bridgett Hillard, 44, of Maple Street, were each indicted for bail jumping.
Timmy Madden, 54, of Crane Creek, was indicted on three counts of wanton endangerment for allegedly firing a gun near three individuals, including children.
Ronald Henson, 42, of May Fork Road, faces charges of first-degree wanton endangerment and first-degree criminal mischief. He is accused of injuring Misty Sizemore by making threats while armed with a firearm and damaging her vehicle by slashing three tires.
Sexual Abuse and Exploitation Charges Filed
James Hayes, 50, of Wendover, already under indictment for sexual abuse in Clay County, was indicted again for first-degree sexual abuse and seven counts of promoting a sexual performance by a minor under 18.
