The 5 A’s of Tourism- Part 1- Attractions

June 10, 2025

Hello Friends! This weather has been quite frightening, and I hope all of you are safe and secure. My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected in Laurel and Pulaski Counties. It’s truly sad and serves as a reminder of how fragile life can be. Today, we will begin a new five-part series called the "5 A's of Tourism." The first topic in this series is Attractions. Attractions are points of interest that draw tourists to a specific location, such as landmarks, historical sites, natural wonders, and cultural venues. The word "attraction" comes from the root word "attractive," which reflects what draws people to an area. For example, the Red Rocks Music Amphitheater is a major attraction and a significant draw for tourism. You can't have tourism without attractions. So, what are our attractions? We have the rock in the park, our beautiful rivers and mountains, our museums, and a couple of our events that have become big draws for tourists. Additionally, our new distillery will be a major attraction.
