Paul Edward Brewer was born August 14, 1945, in Clay County, Kentucky.
Paul passed away peacefully on July 23. 2025 at his daughter's home surrounded by his family.
Paul was born to Sherman and Ellen Brewer of Jackson County, Kentucky Paul was 1 of 10 children
Paul was preceded in death by his father, Sherman Brewer, his mother Ellen Bowman Brewer, his brothers Dan Brewer, Grant Brewer, Charles Brewer, Wade Lee Brewer, Phillip Ray Brewer and two sisters, Arpie Marie Hounshell and Willia May Seaborn.
Paul moved to Dayton, Ohio as a teenage boy where he started working at a young age. Paul had many jobs through the years but always knew he wanted to make something of himself and that is what he did. With 600.00 in his pocket, he turned the dreams into a reality. He opened his first gas station and from there in turned into 2 that turned into owning restaurants, pool halls, a truck stop, storage units and an auto parts store. Paul always loved to work and to provide for his family, no matter what he had to sacrifice.
Paul loved to fish, hunt, travel, camp and to be outside. Paul served as a volunteer at the VA Medical Center in Lexington. Paul is survived by his wife Maudie Brewer, daughter Brandi Bowles (Travis), 6 granddaughters:
Candace Brown (Jared), Kara Jane Paul Danielle Osburn (Caleb), Arika Marie Napier (JT), Lindsey Miller (Jake), Breanna Bowles (Jarvis), Rylan Bowles; 14 Great Grandchildren, Brooklyn Brown, Colton Osburn, Hayden Napier, Waylon Vanwinkle, Brynley Brown, Ivy Bleu Napier, Jaxton Brown, Watson Vanwinkle, Jett Napier, Rhett Brown, Benjamin Miller, Wrenley Vanwinkle, Ellie Miller, Weller Vanwinkle; his Baby brother Ben Brewer, and sister Ortha Jean Brewer Mooney.
More than anything, he adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; being a Papaw was his greatest joy. The bond he shared with them gave him endless pride and happiness.
Visitation will be held this Sunday, July 27th, 2025, with visitation beginning at 11 am - 2 pm at Lakes Funeral Home in Berea, and funeral services will follow at 2 pm. The burial will be in Jackson County at the Bowman Family Cemetery. This man will be missed more than words can say. Condolences may be left for the family at www.lakesfuneralhome.com
