Rick Butler
July 28, 2025

Rick Butler, born on July 12, 1968, in Manchester, Kentucky, was a beloved father, brother, son, grandpa, and friend. He passed away on July 25, 2025, at the age of 57. Rick was the cherished son of the late Hubert Hensley and Betty Jo Younts, who survives him in Corbin, Kentucky. He is also survived by his children, Kaitlyn Butler (Michael) and Derrick Butler (Jazlyn), both residing in London and the mother of his children; Claudia Hollin Butler of London, Kentucky. Rick was a proud grandfather to Brayden Butler and Brooklyn Butler, also of London.
He is remembered fondly by his siblings: Chester Younts and fiancée Shannon of Manchester, Lisa Hutton and husband Tom of Williamsburg, Kentucky, Ronnie Hensley of Gray, Kentucky, Doug Hensley and wife Melissa of Michigan, Jimmy Hensley of Gray, and Beverly Cox of Barbourville, Kentucky. In addition to his father, Rick was predeceased by his sister Sophie Grimes and brothers Tommy Younts and Randy Younts.
Rick was a dedicated sawmill worker and a man of the Baptist faith. He had a passion for fishing, old cars, and car shows, and was a proud member of the Clay County Cruisers.
While it is true that he did love those things, there was no doubt what he loved most – His children and grandchildren. His love for his family was one that could not be matched by any material thing.
As the words for this obituary are written, it becomes all too apparent how no matter what words are used to describe Rick, there is nothing that comes close. He was a father, brother, son, grandpa and friend to all who knew him and there is nothing that can be written that will truly ever describe exactly what he was or how much he meant to us all.
The funeral service for Rick Butler will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday in the Bowling Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Josh Durham. Burial will follow in Hollin Cemetery at Lily. The family will receive friends starting at 5 pm on Monday at Bowling Funeral Home.
Pallbearers: Chris Hollin, Patrick Younts, RJ Warren, Shawn Armfield, Michael Hatton, Chester Younts, Ronnie Hensley
