John Nolan

John Nolan, of Manchester, departed this life on July 26, 2025, to his heavenly home. The good Lord blessed him to live 96 years on earth. John was born in Beverly, Kentucky. He was a member of Katie's Creek United Baptist Church.

John lived most of his life on Red Bird, where he raised his family. He enjoyed gardening, walking in the mountains, whittling, hunting, and spending time with his family. John retired after 35 years of employment at the Red Bird Mission.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Sylvester Nolan and Ollie (Sizemore) Nolan. Wife Nellie (Holland) Nolan. Infant daughter Charlene Nolan, Daughter Darlene Mitchell, and Grandsons Jeffrey Mitchell and Jonathan Mitchell. Brothers Sam and Preston Nolan. Sisters Martha Nolan Roark, Anna Lee Smith, and Nancy Osborne.

John is survived by his son John Edward Nolan (Darlene) and Nancy Helton (Jack), grandchildren Jarrod and Jeffrey Helton, John Logan Conner Nolan, Nathan, and Rodney Mitchell. Brother Walter Nolan, Sisters Edna Lipps, Barbara Jones, and Marjorie Jackson.

Funeral services for John Nolan will be conducted on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at 2 P.M. at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Cleveland Nolan and Rev. Golden Jr. Smith will be presiding. Burial will follow at the Estep Cemetery in the Katie's Creek Community.

The family will receive friends and loved ones after 12 P.M. on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel.
