Herless Downey

Herless Downey, age 96 of Manchester departed this life on Friday, December 15, 2023 at his home. He was born on Sunday, December 26, 1926 in Harlan Co., KY to John and Opal (Smith) Downey. He was a coal miner.

He leaves to mourn his passing his children: Benny Downey, Ruby Stanfield, Theresa Bowman, Rhonda Weston, Sherry Hubbard, and Johnny Downey; 17 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents: John and Opal Downey; his wife: Cynthia Downey; his son: Homer Downey; his daughter: Margie Halcomb and these brothers and sisters: Otis Downey, Gilbert Downey, Charles Doug Downey, Virgie Henson, Orita Jones and Georgia Parks.

Funeral Services for Herless Downey were conducted on Thursday, December 21, 2023 at 2:30 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Carl Allen officiating. Burial will followed in the Downey Cemetery in the Horse Creek Community.
