Have you seen the stolen cruiser?

Posted

PERRY COUNTY, Ky. — Somewhere out there, a Dodge Charger belonging to the Perry County Sheriff’s Department is joyriding without its rightful driver — and deputies aren’t laughing.

Authorities say Chris Combs was in custody Wednesday, handcuffed behind his back in the back seat of the cruiser at Perry County Park. That’s when, in what could only be described as a magician’s-level stunt, he slipped the cuffs, hopped into the driver’s seat, and took off in the deputy’s ride.

Combs, who had just been arrested on an indictment warrant after deputies recovered 40 grams of meth and several thousand dollars in cash, is now wanted for grand theft police car.

The sheriff’s department says Combs should be considered armed and dangerous — and definitely in need of a refresher course on “how not to make things worse for yourself.”

If you happen to see Combs or the Charger, officials ask that you call 911 immediately. And no, you cannot request a ride.
