MANCHESTER, Ky. – With Christmas tournaments in full swing, the Lady Tigers headed south to Gatlinburg to compete at the Rocky Top Sports world this past week. After notching a road win over the Harlan Lady Green Dragons on Tuesday, Clay County fell to North Greene 64-53 on Thursday, followed by a 68-43 win over Boyd Buchanan on Friday night. The Lady Tigers currently are 4-3 on the season thus far.
Clay 73 Harlan 55 – A balanced scoring attack led the Lady Tigers over Harlan in a strong win on the road. Led by 8thgrader Maci White’s 19-point six rebound performance, the Lady Tigers stuffed the stat sheet in this one. Carly Fultz continued her stellar play with 18 points and six rebounds. Lauryn Sizemore added 10, Taylor Grubb nine, Madison Pendland eight, Harper Rice six, Anna Samples three.
North Greene 64 Clay 53 – The Lady Tigers took one on the chin as they fell 64-53 in their first game of the trip. Maci White led the Lady Tigers by pouring in 20 points. Carly Fultz added eight, Lauryn Sizemore seven, Anna Samples seven, Harper Rice six, Madison Pendland three, and Taylor Grubb two. White and Fultz each nabbed six rebounds to lead the team on the boards.
Clay 69 Boyd Buchanan 43 – Clay County came out strong against Boyd Buchanan, as four Lady Tigers scored in double figures on their way to another win. Carly Fultz paced the Lady Tiger offense with 18 points and seven rebounds, as she continues to put together a fantastic junior season. Eighth grader Harper Rice is stepping up as a leading rebounder as well, grabbing nine boards to add with her 11 points, an almost double-double effort.
Lauryn Sizemore added 15 points on five three pointers, Anna Samples with 12, Maci White with five, Madison Pendland three, Taylor Grubb two, Adyson Wagers two.
