On Saturday, November 1st, Clay County High School will host the Region 7 and 8 Competitive Cheer Competitions. Through two sessions on Saturday, 50 schools will compete.
CCHS Athletic Director Tommy Nicholson said, “Clay County High School is excited to host both cheer competitions on Saturday. With 50 schools expected to compete, we are anticipating 1,000-1,250 fans per session.”
The first session will start at 9 AM, with the second session beginning at 3:30 PM. This event hopefully will bring a positive spotlight for the school and the community. Admission to the event will be cashless, meaning tickets must be bought online and tickets presented on their phone at the door. Once inside the building, cash will be accepted at concession stands and other booths.
Nicholson added, “This event will hopefully be beneficial for both the school and the community. We’re hoping fans from other schools will eat at local restaurants, stop at local gas stations, and visit the town. When people hear Regions 7 and 8, think traditional basketball regions 13, 14, 15, and 16.”
