When: Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2026, 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Where: Eastern Kentucky University Manchester Campus; 50 University Dr, Manchester, KY 40962

The health fair is part of Humana’s efforts to bring together healthcare leaders, community advocates, and local officials to talk about improving health outcomes, strengthening recovery efforts, and supporting rural communities.

A three-day immersive visit, scheduled for September 20-22, will give a group of Humana employees and clinicians an opportunity to meet local residents, volunteer alongside community organizations, and learn firsthand about the challenges and opportunities facing Eastern Kentucky. Topics will include healthcare access, addiction recovery, workforce development, and community transformation.

"The solutions to some of Kentucky's toughest challenges are being built right here in Clay County, with healthcare providers, nonprofits, employers and local leaders working together toward common goals,” said Jennifer Hancock, President and CEO of VOA Mid-States. “This visit gives Humana's leaders and healthcare professionals an opportunity to learn directly from the people and programs that are helping families recover, rebuild and thrive. We are proud to showcase the resilience of this community and the innovative work happening every day across Eastern Kentucky."

During the trip, participants will visit VOA programs and community partners that are helping individuals and families overcome substance use disorder, access healthcare services, and build stronger futures.

A highlight of the visit will be a public dinner and fireside chat on Monday, Sept. 21. The discussion will feature leaders from healthcare, government, education, and nonprofit organizations and will focus on health equity, addiction recovery, rural healthcare, and community partnerships that are creating positive change across the region.

This community initiative reflects a growing partnership between Humana and VOA Mid-States aimed at improving access to care and strengthening communities throughout Kentucky. VOA leaders say the visit represents an important opportunity to showcase the progress being made in Clay County while identifying new ways to support long-term health and recovery.
