James Lester Smith

James Lester Smith, 75, of Annville, KY, passed away Friday, April 19th, at the Lee County Care and Rehab in Beattyville, KY.

James was born in Oneida, KY, on November 22nd, 1948, a son of the late Vernon Louisiana Smith and Martha Bessie Estep Smith.

James is preceded in death by his wife, Hester Couch Smith.

He is survived by the following children: Carl Lester Smith and wife Savanne of Mount Vernon, KY, Willie Smith of Annville, KY, Freda Short and husband Michael of Centerville, IN, Lola Smith and husband Sam of Chandler, AZ, Carrie Lynn Gouge of Richmond, IN, and Dion Smith and wife Tara of Richmond, IN.

He is also survived by 25 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; as well as his two sisters and brother, Myrtle Gilbert of Manchester, KY, Hattie Sizemore of Manchester, KY, and Debert Smith of Manchester, KY.

In addition to his parents and wife, James is preceded in death by the following brothers and sisters: Tilford, Taylor, Elsie, Ethel, Cecil, Jerry, and John.

Services for James will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, April 24th, at Barr Creek Holiness Church on Bar Creek, with Mark Bowling and Don Hubbard officiating. Burial will follow in the Smith Cemetery in Jackson County.

Visitation for James will be held at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, April 23rd, at Barr Creek Holiness Church on Bar Creek.
