MANCHESTER, Ky. — Two Clay County residents are facing felony assault charges after a man reported being attacked with a taser and pepper spray during an altercation earlier this week.

According to police, Nathan Tyler Hicks of Clay County told officers he was assaulted around 7 p.m. on June 3. Hicks said the incident occurred during an unprovoked confrontation involving a man and woman identified as Ruby Croucher, 31, and Arthur Blankenship, 39, both of Highway 687.

Hicks alleged that Blankenship grabbed him while Croucher used both a taser and pepper spray against him, resulting in physical injuries. The severity of those injuries was not immediately released.

Following an investigation, authorities obtained warrants for both Croucher and Blankenship. They have each been charged with second-degree assault, menacing, and third-degree terroristic threatening.

The case remains under investigation.
