Beverly Mae (Cheek) Collett, age 79, of Manchester, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2026.
She leaves behind three children, Brandy Burns & husband Charles of London, KY, Mitzi Nolan & husband Jason of Manchester, KY, Scott Taylor of London, KY; her brother, Larry Cheek & wife Donna of London, KY; eight grandchildren, Jacob Taylor, Ella Taylor, Charley Burns, Tucker Burns, Brittany Nolan, Jalon Nolan, Kailee Wooton & husband Andrew, Tatum Nolan; three great grandchildren, Copelyn & Calliope Taylor, Isla Wooton; special friends, Frances Gibson, Marsha Stivers, Shannon Magee, Whitney Arnett; plus a host of other family and friends to cherish her memory.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alex Collett; her parents, Arnold & Gladys Cheek; her infant son, Brian Keith Taylor; her brother, James R. Gilbert; and by her in-laws, Mattie & Gill Collett. Also by special friend Judy Nolan. Affectionately known by many as “Snooks,” Beverly was a loving and devoted woman who found her greatest happiness in her family. She cherished the time she spent with those she loved and was always happiest when surrounded by the people who meant the most to her. Her love, kindness, and caring spirit made her a special part of the lives of many, and her presence will be deeply missed.
Beverly was a dedicated employee of Manchester Memorial Hospital, where she worked as a patient liaison before retiring. She took pride in her work and in helping others, bringing her compassionate nature and caring heart to those she encountered throughout her years at the hospital. Outside of work, Beverly had a special love for thrift store shopping. She could spend hours browsing through the aisles, looking for unique treasures and enjoying the excitement of finding something special. It was one of the simple pleasures that brought her great joy and gave her many wonderful memories. Those who knew Beverly will remember her as a woman who loved deeply, cared genuinely, and valued the time she had with her family.
Her nickname, “Snooks,” will forever bring a smile to the faces of those who knew and loved her, as will the many memories created throughout her life. A graveside service honoring Beverly Mae Collett will be held on Monday, August 31, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. at Manchester Memorial Gardens in Manchester, Kentucky. Charles Burns will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Clay County Cancer Coalition or to the Clay County High School Theatre Dept. The family has entrusted House-Rawlings Funeral Home with the arrangements.
