Mrs. Carol Gray was born June 14, 1963, in Clay County, KY to the late Denver and Katie Johnson, and passed away Sunday morning October 26, 2025, at the age of 62.

She was the beloved wife of Ronnie Gray for 45 years; beloved mother of Denver Gray and wife Debbie from Cannon, KY, Jeremy Gray and wife Brandi from Corbin, KY, and Ronica Broughton and husband Nathan from Cannon, KY, She was the cherished grandmother of Austin Gray of North Carolina, Allison Murphy of Winchester, KY, Jaylee Murphy of Cannon, KY, Tucker Broughton of Cannon, KY, Grayson Broughton of Cannon, KY, Raylea Jo Gray of Barbourville, KY, Canaan Gray of Corbin, KY, Rebecca Grubb of Barbourville, KY, and Regan Sowders of Barbourville, KY; and two great-grandchildren: John William Garrison II of Winchester, KY and Olivia Ruth Grubb of Barbourville, KY.

Also surviving is her beloved sister, Vivian Cheek of Manchester, KY.

She was preceded in death and now reunited with her parents, Denver and Katie Johnson; and four siblings: David Johnson of Covington, KY, Morris Johnson of Manchester, KY, Toleman Johnson of Manchester, KY, and Nettie “Cookie” France of Manchester, KY.

Mrs. Carol Gray was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church in Barbourville, KY. She was a faithful servant of the Lord for all her life and lived it among others. She loved to cook for others and bake and was famous for her pumpkin rolls and dressing and pies. She was a homemaker and cherished wife and mother and upheld member in her community, both in Clay County, KY and Knox County, KY and will be cherished forever by so many who are left behind to mourn her passing.

Graveside Services will be held at 11:30 AM on Thursday, October 30th at Manchester Memorial Gardens in Manchester, KY, with Jim Bargo officiating.
