Charlene (Bowling) Woods, age 63, passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at her residence in Manchester, Kentucky. She was born on August 5, 1962, in Hyden, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Charlie Bowling and Judy (England) Bowling of Manchester, Kentucky. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her spouse, Gary Woods, and her sister, Teresa Buttery.
In addition to her mother, she was survived by her two children, Tonya Mitchell and Whitney Nichole Smith and husband Brandon, all of Manchester, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Cody Hoskins, Breana Hoskins, Tori Hoskins, and Peyton Neveah Smith; two siblings, Michael “Mike” Bowling of Tyner, Kentucky, and Arthur Bowling and wife Sharlene of Manchester, Kentucky; nephews Arthur Bowling Jr., Shawn Gabriel, and Joe Buttery; niece Becky Hubbard; along with a host of family and friends who mourned her passing.
Funeral services for Charlene (Bowling) Woods were conducted on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at 12 p.m. at Hampton Celebration of Life Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Arthur Bowling Jr. officiating. Burial followed at East Salem Cemetery in London, Kentucky. Pallbearers were family and friends. The family received friends from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 12 p.m. on Saturday at Hampton Celebration of Life Funeral Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family requested that donations be made to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses.
