Charles Fredrick Bowman Sr., known affectionately to many as Freddy, passed away on June 25, 2026, in Richmond, Kentucky, at the Hospice Compassionate Care Center, at the age of 75. He was born on June 22, 1951, in Clay County, Kentucky, and lived a life marked by hard work, devotion to family, and a practical, helpful spirit that earned him the respect and affection of those who knew him.

Freddy was a man who could always be counted on to lend a hand and find a way to get things done. He was especially handy and took great pride in fixing cars, a skill that reflected both his patience and his determination. Whether he was working under the hood, solving a problem, or helping someone in need, he approached life with steady hands and a willing heart. He also found great joy in the companionship of his dogs, who were a beloved part of his life.

Family was central to Freddy's life, and he cherished the people closest to him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Mary Gabbard Bowman, his wife, Rosa Lee Marshall Bowman, and one son, Charles Fredrick Bowman, Jr. Their memories remained an important part of his life, and he carried their love with him always.

He is survived by his children, Ronnie Lee Bowman and his wife Tessie, Billy Joe Bowman and his wife Cindy, and Samantha Renee O'Neal. He also leaves behind one brother, David Bowman; one sister, Linda Turner and her husband Cale; and one half-sister, Thelma Goodin and her husband Bob. Freddy was a proud grandfather to Cameron Baker, Tara Jones and her husband Robbie, Tasha Holt and her husband Daniel, and Kyle Gadd. He was also blessed with one great-grandchild, Maycee Jones, who brought added joy to his later years.

Funeral services will be at 1 pm, Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at Lakes Funeral Home with Bro. Greg Cress officiating. Private burial will follow. Visitation will be Monday evening from 5-8 pm at Lakes Funeral Home. Condolences may be left for the family at www.lakesfuneralhome.com
