Blue served as a faithful deacon at Horse Creek Holiness Church for many years. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving from 1962-1968; he was a member of the VVA. He was also a retired coal truck driver from Lee Co, INC.

He was a fun-loving father and grandfather who expressed great love and pride in his family. He would always reach out to them on birthdays and holidays to tell them that he loved them, to wish them well, and most often would pray with them. He loved sports, especially college football and basketball. He had recently started watching women’s college softball and the Little League World Series. He also enjoyed mowing on his zero-turn lawn mower. He loved a good chew of tobacco and a Little Debbie cake and good cold Pepsi.

But his greatest joy was attending church and being a witness and testimony for his Jesus. He lived his life to bring glory to the kingdom of Heaven. He is now in the presence of his love, his peace, and his joy, his Savior Jesus Christ!
