Irene Ball Weaver, 93, passed away on November 21, 2025, with her family by her side at her home in Rainbow City, Alabama.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bleve and Flora Ball; sisters, Georgia Clark and Edna Pelfrey; and great-grandson, Colby Vinson.

She was survived by her husband of 73 years, Jerry Weaver; sons, Harold (Denise) Weaver and Daryl (Tonia) Weaver; grandchildren, Jason (Carla) Weaver, Jennifer (Brian) Graham, Maegan (Brad) Minton, and Joseph (Jennie) Weaver; great-grandchildren, Alexis (Andrew) Willis, Derek (Faith) Graham, Lauren Weaver, Anna Scott Weaver, Jax Weaver, and CJ Weaver; and great-great-grandchildren, Presley Vinson, Andersyn Rae Willis, Amelia Drue Willis, and Blakely Faith Graham. She was also survived by her sisters, Pauline McDaniel, Margie Hanson, and Mattie Bill Turner; her sister-in-law, Vecha Weaver; and many special nieces and nephews.

Irene was born on December 20, 1931, in Clay County, Kentucky, where she was raised on a small tobacco farm with five sisters. She moved to Dayton, Ohio, in 1951, where she met a back-home acquaintance—her future husband, Jerry, whom she married and shared 73 years with. They moved to Alabama in 1958 with their two sons and made it their forever home.

Irene never forgot where she came from or the work ethic instilled in her by her parents. As the saying goes, you can take the girl off the farm, but you can’t take the farm out of the girl. She loved planting in the soil and tending to her animals. There was always a rescue dog or cat along with horses, but her favorite of all were her chickens, who supplied eggs to the entire family and surrounding neighborhood.

One of her favorite days of the year was the first Saturday in May—the Kentucky Derby. She had the pleasure of attending twice, and for the rest, she watched every minute from home. Irene loved her family, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. For the past 51 years, her basement had been set up as a dedicated child zone.

She was a faithful member of White Springs Baptist Church for over 50 years. She loved reading her Bible and daily devotional and enjoyed writing poetry about special events involving her family members. She was greatly missed, but her family rejoiced knowing she was in the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Pallbearers were Jason Weaver, Joseph Weaver, Brian Graham, Brad Minton, Rickey Marbut, and Mark Weaver.
Honorary Pallbearers were Derek Graham, Andrew Willis, Jeff Morgan, and Dwight Allen.

The family extended their sincere thanks to special friends Tonya Morgan and Brenda Hamby; caregivers Carol Pooley and Melinda Grant; and the Riverview Hospital ICU nurses and staff for their exceptional care and compassion.
