Joan Callahan, age 81 of Maineville, Ohio passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at Bethesda North Hospital. Joan was born in Clay County, Kentucky on December 20, 1943, the daughter of Roy and Jessie (nee Bishop) Ledford. Joan worked for Avon for many years, as well as for Warren County Community Services as a home health aid. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and loved to garden, as well as her dogs and cats. Most of all though, she loved her family, spending time with her kids and grandkids.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Eugene Callahan, and her brothers Alec, Charlie, and Jerry. She is survived by her son Michael (Joyce) Callahan; daughter Marsha (Robert) Ehling; brothers James, Wendall, and Bill; sister Sophie; grandchildren Amberly, Sarah, Jessica, Ryan, and Zack; great-grandchildren Norah, Alexis, Eugene, Adeline, Harrison, Corbin, Cora, and Simon; great-great-grandchild Isla, and one great-grandchild still on the way; as well as many other family members and friends.
Funeral Services for Joan will be held at the Stine Funeral Home of Lebanon on Friday, February 21, 2025, at 1:00 PM with Pastor Mike Cornett officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 11:00 AM at the Funeral Home. An Order of the Eastern Star Service will be held beginning 10 minutes prior to the funeral service. Following funeral services, Joan will be laid to rest at Deerfield Cemetery in South Lebanon, Ohio beside Eugene.
