Joan Henson, age 76, of London, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at her home. She was born on May 13, 1950, in Hazard, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Wilson Collins and Drucilla Combs Wynn. Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Henson.
She is survived by her children, Arnold Henson, Jr. and wife Ruth of London, Scott Henson and wife Jeanette of Lockards Creek, Tim Hicks and wife Kathy of Chop Bottom, and Laura Sizemore and husband Jarrod of Burning Springs; 15 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Martha Yordy, Alice Faye Neufled, Jane Carr, Wanda Shepherd, Jimmy Collins, Jack Collins, Joe Collins, Wilson Collins, and Willy Collins.
In addition to her parents and husband, Joan was preceded in death by her siblings, Sammy Collins, Johnny Collins, Fern Bundy, Myrtle Hall, and Eva Lou Collins.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at Britton Funeral Home, with Andrew Fultz officiating. Burial will follow at Smith Cemetery #1 on Chop Bottom.
Visitation will be held at 6:00 PM on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Britton Funeral Home.
