Posted

Main E. “Mae” Jackson, 87, of Manchester, passed away peacefully at her home on May 19, 2026. Born on September 1, 1938, in Clay County, Kentucky, Mae lived a life rooted in love, family, and quiet strength.

Mae was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Jackson; her parents, Marcus Huff and Maddie Henson; and her grandmother, who raised her and held a deeply cherished place in her life. Their love, guidance, and influence remained a lasting part of who Mae was throughout her years.

She leaves behind her son, Chris (Christine) Jackson; her grandsons, Brian (Kayla) Jackson and Barry (Shana) Jackson; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and her special friend, Sally Couch, who always made sure Mae had lollipop suckers to enjoy. Mae’s love for them brought many smiles over the years and earned her the sweet and fitting nickname, the “lollipop queen.”

Mae’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Though she will be greatly missed, those who loved her will carry her spirit with them always.

Visitation will be held at 12:00 PM on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at Britton Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 PM with Brian Jackson and Andrew Fultz officiating. Burial will follow at Jackson Cemetery on Goose Rock.
