Michael Wayne Cotton, aged 53, passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at AdventHealth Hospital in Manchester, KY. He was born on December 15, 1972, in Pikeville, KY, the son of the late George and Elma (Tipton) Cotton. He was of the Christian faith and had been an employee of Borden Dairy for over 20 years, where he worked as a vault worker. He also enjoyed fishing and working on model cars.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother Jack Cotton and sister Carolyn Webster.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa (Bowling) Cotton; two children: Michael Cole Cotton and fiancé Aeriel Wombles, and Breanna Nicole Cotton and fiancé Zackary Wagers, all of Manchester, KY; one grandchild on the way, Aria Cotton; three siblings: George Cotton of Tazewell, TN, Billy Ray Cotton and wife Angela of London, KY, and Beth Wagers of Corbin, KY; plus, a host of family and friends to mourn his passing.
Services for Michael Wayne Cotton will be conducted on Friday, January 30, 2026, at 1 p.m. at Hampton Celebration of Life Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Orval Hisel officiating. Burial will follow at Shepherd & Cotton Cemetery in London, KY. Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Cole Cotton, Zack Wagers, Cody Eagle, Carl Eagle, Johnny Shepherd, David Wagers, and Brandon Shepherd. The family of Michael Wayne Cotton will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. on Friday, January 30, 2026, at Hampton Celebration of Life Funeral Chapel as well.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
