Roger Williams

Roger Williams, 81, of Annville, went home to be with Jesus on Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2026, at his residence. He was born in Clay County, Kentucky, on May 1, 1945, to the late Ralph and Ruby (Wilson) Williams.

He was survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Pat (Metcalf) Williams; two daughters, Robin Smith and Mandy (Rick) Hays; grandchildren, Jared (Leeann) Smith, Rachel (Wendell Davidson) Isaacs, Jacob (Katherine) Hammons, Serena (Ty Morgan) Smith, Jessica (Blake) Burnett, Josh Hays and Jacob (Haylie) Hays; and great-grandchildren, Jace Isaacs, Lily Isaacs, Reed Smith, Riley Smith, Luke Hays, Hays Burnett and Jace Davidson. He was also expecting another great-grandchild, Meredith Lake Hammons.

He was also survived by his older brother, Don Williams; his special twin, Joan Williams; and his baby brother, Howard (Sandy) Williams.

In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by his parents-in-law, Carlos and Rena Metcalf; sister-in-law, Judy Williams; and son-in-law, Anthony “Tony” Smith.

Roger had served as a pastor at several churches for more than 51 years. He was also a devoted member of Annville Baptist Church.

Visitation was held beginning at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, 2026.

Funeral services for Roger were held at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18, 2026, with Brother David Wilson, Brother Gary Farmer and Brother Will Langford presiding. Burial followed in the House, Carpenter and Williams Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Johnny Legate, Jack Bolton, Donnie Massey, Den Rice, Carl Westerfield and Kevin Rice.

Honorary pallbearers were Gary Reece, Frank Fouts, Doug Edwards, Greg Parrett, Jeff Sams, Philip Allen, Doug York, Darrell Hurley, Charles Goins and Brian Murray.

Lakes Funeral Home oversaw arrangements.
