Runell Grubb, age 87, of Burkesville, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, February 2, 2026, at Alive Hospice in Nashville, Tennessee.
She was born on October 5, 1938, in Cumberland County, Kentucky, to the late Carlie Josh Watson and Mattie Turner Capps Watson. She and her late husband, Edward Grubb, lived for many years in Indiana, where she worked for RCA and Steak ‘n Shake. While living in Indiana, Runell and Ed helped establish Spearsville Road Church of Christ in Morgantown, Indiana.
After retiring and moving back to Burkesville, she attended Seminary Church of Christ and Burkesville Church of Christ.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Miron Thomas Watson and Clifton H. “Butch” Watson.
Survivors included:
Two daughters — Mary Wilson of Bloomington, Indiana, and Connie Woods and husband Dennis Woods of Cornville, Arizona;
Three grandsons — Ben Johnson and wife Rachel of Bloomington, Indiana; Elijah Woods and wife Ashley of Queen Creek, Arizona; and Seth Woods and wife Raena of Parks, Arizona;
Six great-grandchildren — Brody, Alexa, Sawyer, Caleb, Gibson, and Hannah;
Along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, 304 N. Main Street, Burkesville, Kentucky.
