Sallie M. Gay age 94, of Big Creek, Kentucky, departed this life on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. She was of the Holiness faith.
Sallie was born on June 1, 1932, in Manchester, Kentucky to the late Bill and Mamie Mitchell Marcum.
Along with her parents, Bill and Mamie, Sallie was preceded in death by her husband, Estill Gay, and a very special friend Denver Hall.
Sallie leaves behind a son, Estill Gay Jr. (EG) and his wife Deborah, a grandson, Brandon
Gay, a granddaughter whom she adored, Alexandra Gay, a brother, Leslie Marcum and wife Jamima, several nieces and nephews, and other family and friends to miss her and to mourn her passing. The family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Funeral services for Sallie M. Gay will be held on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at The Barbourville Funeral Home Manchester Chapel at 2:00 P.M. Rev. Paul Jenson Mitchell will be officiating.
Interment will follow at Cleveland – Marcum Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 P.M until the time of service at 2:00 P.M at The Barbourville Funeral Home Manchester Chapel.
