Sally Doris Britton, age 81 of Vicksburg, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2025. She was born on August 12, 1944, in Urban, Clay County, Kentucky, to Richard and Bertha Thomas.

Sally spent her career as a forklift driver for various plastic manufacturers, most notably at Meullers. She married James Britton on March 19, 1965, and together they shared a love for archery, often competing in and winning several competitions. Sally was also known for her culinary skills, especially in preparing game harvested by her husband. Her love for bluegrass music and Elvis often found her enjoying local festivals and concerts. Sally and Jim also loved classic cars and enjoyed watching NASCAR Racing.

A proud Kentuckian at heart, Sally frequently returned to her hometown of Manchester, Kentucky to reconnect with family and roots, which remained dear to her throughout her life. She leaves behind her daughter Debbie Freer, son David Barber (Sasha Pfau), grandchildren Robert Britton, Danny Freer, Eoin Eddie Britton, Sally Freer (Jarrod Bailey), Rachel Freer, great-grandchildren Damian, Evelynne, Iris Mae, Lavender Ceil and Lucas. Siblings David Hibbard, Gussie McFarland, Nellie Wood, and Martha Shelton. Sally was preceded in death by her parents Richard and Bertha Thomas, her beloved husband James Britton, her son Jimmy Britton, and brothers Richard, Luther, and Carlie Thomas.

Visitation will be held at Langeland Family Funeral Home, 411 East Centre Ave, on Sunday, September 14 from 2 to 5 PM, where friends and family are invited to pay their respects and celebrate Sally's life.
