Stanley Wayne Sester, 61, of Oneida, passed away Sunday, May 17, at his home. Stan was a Mason and a good and faithful man, husband, papaw, preacher, teacher, and a friend to all who knew him. He was a founding member of Rockhouse Valley Church and a retiree from Jackson Energy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Sester and Ruby Roark Sester, and by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jim and Jesse Sheids.
He was a man full of wisdom, kindness, and quiet strength. Folks often turned to him for guidance because he knew the Word of God well and lived it on the daily. His faith wasn’t just something he preached on Sundays; it showed in the way he treated people every single day.
More than anything in this world, he loved his family. Lisa, his devoted wife and very best friend, stood faithfully by his side through life’s joys and hardships. Together, they built a life full of love, laughter, simple pleasures, and sweet memories.
He was a proud father of his two sons, Joey (Kendra) and Aaron (Cordia) whom he loved deeply, and there was no greater joy to him than his four precious grandbabies, Bryson, Jaxson, Hailee, and Jacob. Being their papaw filled his heart completely, and they knew without question how adored they were. Stan also leaves behind his beloved sister Jenoia (Alvie) Smallwood, niece, Emily (Matt) Hollin, and great-niece Laney B.
