Pulaski County Man Indicted on Federal Drug Charges Involving Fentanyl, Methamphetamine
April 29, 2025

LONDON, Ky. – A Pulaski County man is facing serious federal charges after being indicted for conspiracy to distribute large quantities of fentanyl and methamphetamine.
According to a federal indictment unsealed on April 24 in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky, David Derrick Lewis is accused of conspiring with others to distribute over 400 grams of a substance containing fentanyl and more than 500 grams of methamphetamine. The alleged drug trafficking activities took place between 2023 and March 2, 2025.
The indictment includes two counts. The first charges Lewis with conspiracy to distribute controlled substances, while the second count accuses him of possession with intent to distribute 40 grams or more of fentanyl on or about March 2, 2025.
In addition to the drug charges, the indictment includes forfeiture allegations. Prosecutors are seeking to seize assets connected to the alleged drug offenses, including $3,594 in U.S. currency believed to be proceeds from drug trafficking. If the specific assets cannot be located, the government may pursue substitute property.
The penalties, if convicted, are steep. Count one carries a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years and up to life in prison, along with a fine of up to $10 million and at least five years of supervised release. Count two carries a sentence of five to 40 years in prison, a fine of up to $5 million, and at least four years of supervised release. Each count also includes a mandatory $100 special assessment fee.
The case is being prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Southern Division of London, Kentucky. The indictment is part of an ongoing effort by federal authorities to combat the rise in fentanyl-related trafficking and overdose deaths across the region.
Lewis is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
A healthy Clay County requires great community news.
